What organ music are you listening to right now?
So, what fair/band/street/dance organ music are you currently listening to? Right now, I've got video of the Wurlitzer 153 on the Tuscora Park carousel in New Philadelphia, OH playing "American Patrol". It's very nicely restored organ with a Stinson MIDI system playing it. Now it's playing "Spiffy" as the ride comes to a stop. Let's ride again! While we wait, "God Bless America" plays. Here we go!!! ~John

My 8 year old Daughter likes the 'Grease' selection off of Atkinsons Gavioli (having got the CD to work -ish). I'm still hooked on the Anderton & Rowland Marenghi CD!!!!! Robert Washington :org:

Hi John, I'm listening to Ian Roger's Lady Margaret ex George Houghton's, I just love the depth of tone. But when I'm out in my car I listen to Erwin Ebert's 37 Ruth it's a most smooth instrument. But, I love them all probably have a hundred fav' organs. With friendly greetings, Ian

The Gbr. Wellershaus at DeBence Antique Music World in Franklin, Pennsylvania playing "Espana". Now it's playing a fun little march. Now we have the "duplex" Wurlitzer Calliola in the same collection playing an unidentified triumphal march. It is much expanded over the normal calliola into a very large and impressive band organ. The scale is 65 chromatic notes plus drums.

I've got several days worth of music on my iPod and I generally just set it on shuffle. This lets me play "identify the organ", which I can do with poor-to-moderate success. Right now I would guess that it is the Pluer organ Das Eichhorn (sp?--the Squirrel in translation). Almost ready to try something else for a while-- did 12 nearly uninterrupted hours of organ music flying home from Spain yesterday. Roger>

I'm listening to The Centuary Verbeeck Classical & Show Music CD's,Baldry's 98 key Limonaire CD volume 2,112 key Marenghi/Carl Frei cd & Mike Garner's 52 key Verbeeck (dutch) street organ tapes. Ben

It's volume 1 of "Harmonica", the 90 key Carl Frei organ for me. What an organ! You can't get a much better street organ than this one and all the books have been hand turned by a merry band of helpers for this recording! David

Ah! "De Harmonica". It's the best Dutch street organ for me. As well as the la-*test*-('") CDs of it I also have the two LP records produced 20-30 yars ago. That organ is always hand-turned. It's mounted on an original wooden-wheeled cart, too. Fabulous. Regards, John

Great topic John! I’ve just returned back to my university accommodation having had a weekend back home (North Tonawanda barrel organ is now out of the trailer by the way!). Thus I’ve been listening to music on my iRiver hard-drive MP3 player for the last 2.5 hours whilst driving back - there’s about 3500 tracks on there now, so far too many to list here! The same player keeps me entertained whilst in the workshop at home, and in between lectures at uni here. Having turned on the computer and logged on to iMOD I’ve been listening to a vinyl record recording of the wonderful Forrest’s Gavioli (album title “Fair on the Heath”). Does anyone happen know the full title of the march known simply on the track listing as “Mars” (track 7)?

The Roehl's Wurlitzer 146 playing "Mighty 'lak a Rose". It's my favorite CD, beautiful organ.

Dear all, The Calife of Bagdad, La Vie Parisienne and Coppelia on this mystery "Gavioli", I just can't get in the car without listening to it! Best Regards Peter Clarke Shrewsbury.
