Perhaps the worst tuned organ ever! Not for the faint of heart (or those with perfect pitch.)
A brass North Tonawanda playing Rich Olsen's new arrangement of "In the Mood"

LMAO - this is possibly the most horrible rendition of In the Mood ever. Not only is the organ incapable of playing the piece even if it were in tune as it's doesn't have enough notes in the scale but the arranger just uses the next nearest note and then there's the robotic lifeless arrangement plus the "tuning". Perhaps it'd be better as a static silent exhibit! Send them Kevin Meayers!
Maybe it's a temperamental instrument and not "In the Mood" LOL!

I'm listening to Robindeorgelman's wonderful recordings of 'de Pod' on YouTube. Earlier on I was listening to 'de Hindenburg' again another great 90 key Carl Frei. Unfortunately I don't know how to give the YouTube link here.
Whilst on the YouTube subject, has anyone seen Joris Jan's Oiltank Boogie clip. It's brilliant!!

W146 - "Remember Pearl Harbor", up next is "Semper Paratus" Go Coasties!
Is there is Virtual Wurlitzer 146 on a website somewhere?

No, those are just my MIDI arrangements on my computer. I hope to someday put them online but it's probably gonna be quite a while.

North Tonawanda instruments can turn in some pretty nice performances IF they are playing the right kind of tunes, and have a good arranger (and of course, are in tune). The Henry Haessler and Henry Tussing arrangements for North Tonawanda can be very good, however, the original endless and spooled rolls they arranged for North Tonawanda and Artizan are rapidly wearing out, and apparently the only person with a dedicated 8-holes-per-inch spaced roll perforator, who could recut them, is a supreme procastinator!
Mr. Olsen is a good arranger, but some of the crap he's been churning out lately (such as the above-mentioned arrangement) makes me wonder if he's using the poor arranging shortcuts such as "nearest available note" (rather than re-arranging the melody to sound better there) on purpose, to demonstrate the limitations of the scale, because perhaps he hates that scale?
So perhaps somebody gave him a big commission to make these arrangements, but he hates the scale, so he did the bare minmum of work just to get the money?
Compare the "In the Mood" to his Wurlitzer 165 arrangements, which I find rather nice:

I wouldn't arrange "In the Mood" for ANY amount of money... I'm smart enough to arrange only as a pastime, what tunes strike my fancy, and what scales strike my fancy. If I turn out anything halfway decent I'll be sure to post it here.
