WANTED: 46/48 or 52/54 key/keyless Book Music
Has anyone got any old / spare / duplicate 46/48 - 52/54 key or keyless music books for sale cheap? (Gavioli scale, i.e. 12 accompaniment notes).
I’m not worried about the registers as will need to adapt that anyway for my Chiappa and have already cut down some 53-kl music for it. Now the organ is playing I’m certainly keen to expand the music library as much as I can, preferably with older arrangements as once I’ve got my CNC punch up and running I’ll be able to make my own modern ones together with recuts of old damaged books I have.
Interestingly enough, there was a 48-key Whitehead book “Crystal Chandeliers” appeared on eBay a few weeks ago. It was a private auction so I don’t know who bought it, but I was away at the time and so couldn’t bid. This book actually came from the same person who sold the Chiappa to me, and has the same cut outs on the first sheet and style/colour of writing on as well as being practically unplayed, so I’m very sure it belonged with the organ’s music library. It’s not a tune I like I must say, but I was gutted that the book was split off from my organ in the first place.
I wonder what other books had been with the instrument (came with about 40, nearly all Chiappa / Whitehead) only to have been separated off? In my opinion, the music present with an historic organ is just as much worthy of preservation as any actual part of the organ is.
