US COAA and MBSI rally dates
From the COAA homepage http://coaa.us/: COAA Rally May 25-28, 2007: Lake Winnepesqaukah, GA COAA Rally June 16-17, 2007: Gallipolis, OH COAA Rally June 30-July 1, 2007: Quassy Amusement Park; Middlebury, CT MBSI Mid-Am Rally July 19-21, 2007: Wabash, IN COAA Rally July 27-29, 2007: Muscatine, IA COAA Rally August 24-26, 2007: St. Joseph, MI Dates have been known to change, so check the COAA website prior to leaving. Last year, I went to the Franklin, PA rally a week early because of a date change. At least I got a nice tour of the DeBence museum. I sure wish there were more rallies closer to me this year. The only one I'll probably get to is Gallipolis and possible St. Joseph.

COAA Rally June 14-15, 2008: Marietta, OH CONTACT: Jim & Sylvi Caporale (740) 373-4262 That's this weekend. Marietta is right on the Ohio River at its junction with the Muskingum River. The big Delta Queen Co. steamboats still stop here and play caliopes. Although the Delta Queen is expected to be in port at the Public Landing in front of the Lafayette Hotel in Marietta at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 12, while a "save the Delta Queen" rally is held, I expect she will be long-gone on her way to Pittsburgh when we arrive on Friday. We will be playing in a nice riverfront park and on the streets. COAA Rally May 24-26, 2008: Lake Winnepesaukah, GA CONTACT: Ron & Glynn Keisler (803) 356-4545 We all (3 largish organs and about 20 monkey organsists) had a great time in this family owned amusement park. After music playing, some of us rode the coasters and carousel. My favorite was the old mill flume ride - a dark ride followed by a mill flume exit, which was built by the grandfather of the grandmother who acts as "boss-lady" of the park today. COAA Rally June 28-29, 2008: Knoebels Grove, PA CONTACT: Ted Guillaum (615) 226-5098 Knoebels is a really great family amusement park "out in the boondocks" in Pennsylvania. The park owns several large band-organs, with 3 or 4 on playing display, in addition to a Raffin 20 owned by a family member. This park is worth a considerable drive even without the COAA rally, and we should have a good turnout of organs from New England, Pennsylvania, and Ohio through, probably, Texas, with a Canadian or two for good measure.

I hope to be able to get up there. I got to Roscoe yesterday just in time to hear the final book of the day on Roger Wiegand's new Gavioli. (Yes, we came that late, had a steam show to go to up in Amish country and spent the trip stuck behind buggies.) Video is coming soon.
