URGENT - MIKE PRIESTNERS 89 KEY MARENGHI STOLEN TODAY!
Hello all, Can everybody please keep watch out for Mike Priestner's 89 key Marenghi 'Lady Hamilton' which is housed in a Bedford TK lorry - IT HAS BEEN STOLEN TODAY.(Friday 29th June somewhere between 10.00 and 18.00 from Altrincham, Cheshire). I have just spoke to Mike and obviously he and his family and very concerned. PLEASE BE VERY WATCHFUL AND REMEMBER IF YOU HAVE OR DO SEE IT ON THE ROAD IT IS NOT EN ROUTE TO A RALLY BUT STOLEN! The lorry is panted maroon and has the slogan 'THE MIGHTY MARENGHI' on the front and 'THE MIGHTY MARENGHI FAIR ORGAN' on the rear. Any info please contact Mike on (07973) 688060 or PM me ASAP. Bedford TKs are very sort after for spares. There is a good chance that the lorry will be broken up for spare parts. How they dispose of the load does not worry them, just dump it

Hello all, There is still no news on the whereabouts of 'Lady Hamilton', Mike and he's family are increasingly distraught. Sadly the Police do not seem to be making any progress which makes it even more important for us enthusiast to pull together and find her. Should it be that the thieves target was the lorry and not the organ it is a matter of great concern as to what they will do with the organ when they have stripped the lorry of the components which they want from it. Therefore can I ask everybody to check out quiet country lanes and lay bys (particuarly if they are a popular spot with certain undesirables!) and also if you have any suspicious vehicle dismantlers near you and it is possible to see into their yards from the road just have a quick look. I hope nobody is offended by the above, nobody is being accused of anything BUT as each day passes it is more of a race against the clock to ensure the safe return of part of our heritage. Already done the above and rang around all my chums in the commercial breakers and ask them to keep an eye out. I do get around lot in these circles. Going to Bolton on Monday for 2 days on engine hunt will check out some well-known spots on the way and all round Bolton. If anyone spots the above just ring the police as you don’t know whom you may be dealing with. Remember your life is more important and if this team has got the nerve to steal an item of that size they may be dangerous.

How about contacting local TV and Radio Stations ? That might be the quickest way to get a picture of this missing vehicle into every house-hold in the area it was stolen from. Just an idea... I find the idea of someone stealing a vehicle that size with such a precious cargo very disturbing. Stephen

Hello all, Still no news as to the organs whereabouts. Thank you Phil for your enquiries with vehicle dismantlers and Stephen for your suggestion of local radio & television, hopefully there will be a TV crew from the local news station visiting Mike today to do a feature on it subject to other stories taking priority such as the recent terrorist threat. The poor old girl..... I was shocked to hear this news on Friday night, I fear what might of become of this organ by now although i will NOT! give up hope! We must do everything we can to find this organ, Phil is right though, If you see the organ do not attempt to confront the sh*** who have taken her, they could be dangerous, so ring the police and let the experts handle them!!!!! Hi Trevor Its sad to see a item like this. :( Just hope the organ is found soon. I have made up a poster from the photo and discription and have put it up at work, we get quite a few delivery drivers coming in so they may see it and keep a look out.

Hello all, Firstly, thank you Steve for displaying a poster - this is just the sort of thing we need to do to get more people involved in the search and could be just enough to remind somebody of what they have seen parked up somewhere. Secondly, having spoken to Richard Preston I am delighted to say that he has very kindly agreed to add his support to the search by informing all his staff at the legendary 'Preston's Of Potto' road haulage firm. They will be able to check a vast amount of lay bys etc every day as they take tacho breaks all over the U.K. This is obviously a significant boost indeed for which we are very grateful.
