Hi folks, After another hectic week I’m really looking forward to the weekend away at this superb organ gathering. I’ll be leaving for Twinwoods at lunchtime today (Friday) to hopefully arrive sometime before nightfall. I had a terrible journey following a GPS last year, so it’s back to good old fashioned map reading. If you’ve never been to the event before, or want a reminder, the link below shows you how to find the site once you’re in the Bedford area (for route planners the post code is MK41 6AB)… http://www.twinwoodevents.com/travel.html As a helper to the above, once you’ve turned off the main road into the entrance of the airfield it’s quite a long and bumpy driveway, so take it slow and steady, and keep going until you get to the buildings at the end! I’m bringing my accordion again this year, so combined with James and his snare drum you’ve all had advanced warning to bring earplugs. Plus a bonus to iMOD readers in attendance: I’ll be taking a rare Gavioli-related curio this year, but it’s only on view by request, so you’ll have to ask! Have a safe journey everyone, and see you there! Nick :org:

Just got bacl from my first visit to Twinwoods. had a most enjoyable time, met some very nice people, and can't wait until the next one. However, I have to say, it is the worst signposted event I have ever been too. Could this explain why so few people were there?

WOW! What a spectacular weekend we all had at the Twinwoods Organ Festival 2008! Surely the best UK organ enthusiast weekend gathering of the year – great organs, friendly company and a brilliant atmosphere, with perfect weather to match! Many thanks to Bob West for all his hard work organising such a superb organ gathering, and of couse all those who attended and made such a brilliant event. I’ll be posting a quick write up and photos of the event on iMOD soon, with hopefully a video or two to follow in the near future.
