Twinwoods Organ Festival 2007
Hi Bob just checking that Twinwoods is on the 13th & 14th as is printed in "Worlds Fair" that it is on the 6th and 7th? :?

Steve, In an earlier posting from Bob, it states that Twinwoods is on 13th & 14th October. forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=956" target="_blank">http://organ.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=956 Aubrey

It looks like a World’s Fair reporter or editor has got the date wrong then as it definitely is the 13th & 14th October. I’m really looking forward to the show this year as I’m sure we all are, and hope to chat to many iMODers over the course of the weekend. :org: Please don’t forget iMOD badges either, which assist friendly introductions between members so you can put a face to the name! Badges were seemingly in short supply at GDSF, though well done to Steve as his was the first I saw at the show. Link to iMOD badge info as follows… http://organ.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=502

Twiwoods Dates
The World's fair has got it wrong again, dohhhh ? Write to them in large letters and they still manage to muck it up. Twinwoods Organ festival will always be the second weekend in October. The first weekend or first Sunday is, and always has been, Organ Enthusiasts Day at Cotton Mechanical Music Museum, nr Stowmarket. Twinwoods will always be the following weekend. This year , as advertised, it is 13th and 14th October. There is a great Saturday evening planned, Craft and Antique Stalls should be in attendance, First Class catering and a displays by Twinwoods Model Aircraft, static and flying are planned. Exhibitors are welcomed and camping for the weekend is just £20 for non exhibitors

My good Cornish-self will be there along with my 31kl. Looking forward to meeting many more of the organ folk I don't see at Dorset. and I will be bringing my snare drum to cover up... I mean accompany Nicks accordian playing (and others no doubt)! See you there!

Finding Twinwoods Organ Festival...
Here's a link to the venue's webpage detailing how to get there... http://www.twinwoodevents.com/how-to-find-twinwood.htm I'll be dusting off my piano accordion again this year to hopefully add to the Saturday night entertainment; last year Alan Pell, Andrew Smith and myself had some good fun performing as an accordion trio. I've only been playing a little over 2 years but find accordions a very complimentatary instrument to the organs, though clearly quite a challenge to play! A sneak preview from me here... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Gp0BYV_4ueY. See you all there! Nick

A very short but heartfelt thanks to Bob West for organising the Twinwoods event. We met many old friends and met many new ones. Best regards to all. Nick & Barbara.

John Page- 10-16-2007

I'll echo that, Nick. Roll-on next year. John

A truly SUPERB show! Sincere thanks to organiser Bob and all of the Twinwoods staff, exhibitors, and visitors for making such an enjoyable and successful event. Roll on Twinwoods 2008! (11th & 12th October) :org: All the best, Nick P.S. I’ll be uploading some photos and maybe a few video clips during the course of the week.

Neil and Marion Buckler- 10-16-2007

We agree with all the above comments. Thanks Bob for organising Twinwoods, we had a great weekend and enjoyed meeting and talking to other organ owners and exhibitors. It was good to put faces to names, despite the fact we forgot to take our iMOD badges! Next years date is in the diary. Certainly one not to be missed. Best wishes to all, Neil and Marion P.S. Got to get those posts in Nick!

A big THANK_YOU to everyone who helped make twinwoods another success for all those who came along. Thanks to James Dundon, our very own Master of Ceremonies on saturday night , ably helped by Andrew Smith and Nick Williams and a few organ grinders. The impromptu evening was very well received by all who were there. Thanks to the new arrivals who hadn't attended before and have promised to return. Next year's event is already being discussed and planned

No problem Bob, it all added to the fun and friendly atmosphere, and was enjoyable to take part in. Here's a video of some of these Saturday night performances on the stage... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lfv9Nd4GCtk

Thanks Bob, congratulations on being responsible for a great weekend, fab fun all round, all organs very well turned out and in a great location. It took about 9 hours to drive back yesterday, but really nice to take my 31kl. Thanks for the video Nick, and looking forward to seeing more, the sound was a bit of a nightmare in that big building with no microphone, and rehearsals are all very well, but often its much more 'fun' when even the host doesn't know whats happening next! (You may notice I pick up my notepad during playing one handed for the wartime selection as I forgot at that point to keep 2 steps ahead!) See you all there next year, its worth the trip!
