Id be interested in the barrell marking, and the 89 Key gavi, purly because we have a Barrell organ, and 89 key is bigger giving you more options for registers, and its more difficult, and less modern than a decap (if its a gavi were on about)

''Kevin Meayers and I have talked about running a music arranger's workshop one w/e at the Amersham Fair Organ Museum if there was enough interest. It would be a chance to promote the traditional English style of arranging techniques and encourage beginners. Perhaps we could all make a section of a piece for say, 46 put it together and have it cut and ready to play at a workshop concert on Sunday afternoon on the museum's Wilhelm Bruder Sohne. I wonder what the piece would sound like? Would we be able to tell who had made which bit?''
Excellent idea chaps! I'd love to have a go at marking again, my previous attempts on 48key scale (over 15 years ago) were rather average -especially when cutting out holes with a Stanley knife!

I think we could improve on the Stanley Knife, Robert! But its only fair to say to anyone who might be interested in a workshop my "secret agenda" over such a w/e would be to try and sell you all the idea that the traditional English style of fairground arranging wants continuing. Linked to this theme I have just thought of a good subejct for a separate post...

Hi Jory,
A music arrangers workshop I would certainly try and come to. Please keep us informed.

Hello everyone,
Oh me too. What about those of us who don't read music? I arrange by ear onto computer. It would be interesting to try to emulate the busy style of Chiappa arranging.
Rob.

Oh, I typed a long and in-depth life story as a reply and seem to have lost it after clicking submit.
In less words(!) I would really love to learn the art of traditional music arranging, and with other mechanical music enthusiasts.
I have tried using cakewalk but get bored as you've heard the finished piece of music before you punch it out on the computer so there is nothing to work towards, plus I spend my working life staring at a computer screen, so there is nothing less I would like to do when I come home of an evening!
I am a little bit musical (well I'm a drummer for those who don't know) so I have a good grasp of rhythm, so it would be great to come up to Amersham, see Kevin and Paul’s workshop and learn a craft that should be continued.
you've started something now by the looks of it.
James.

count me in too! I think it'd be a fascinating thing to take an in-depth look at!
