Roundabout sold.
It is with great sadness that I report that Bob has sold his roundabout “Pride of the South”, complete with 89 key Gaudin organ to Nikki Jones of North Walsham, Norfolk. It will leave the yard in Ashford Middlesex early on Thursday 7th August with the centre truck and organ on a low-loader, and the platform and horse trucks behind the ERF. I understand that we are going to build it up in the station yard at Holt on the North Norfolk Railway where it will stay for the rest of the summer. If all goes well we expect to arrive before noon, build up the same day and then travel home by car. This is a unique event for any local enthusiasts to photograph. You’ll probably hear the organ play……and see grown men cry.
