Hello again everyone, Well, Greg.... We built your 30k organ for Richard Barnett from Sussex in about 1992. It used the then new Harmonist 2 player system. Richard built the huge display trailer from scratch, including the surround to the organ. At some point it was then sold to Les Drury, although I don't know anymore than that. Dennis (Dod) Howland bought it sometime later & put the dolls & flowers on it. We fitted the extra bass, accompaniment, & melody forte flutes at his request. We also made a special C pitch Magic Accordion to play in front of it. This also involved converting the player system to Harmidi, so the two instruments could be linked up. Then you bought it. The accordion was sold seperately. I hope this is of interest, Rob.

thanks for the history Rob, that's very interesting, and now I know why it's fitted with a midi thru box!. Is there any chance of a bit of technical information please, a plan of which pipes are where would be extremely helpful and the pin out of the D connectors on the harmonist board as some of the wiring has suffered a little. You've probably got my private email address as I ordered some bits from you recently, or I will contact you again if you wish. Thanks for the explanation of the scales, I understand about missing out notes and still being able to support the common keys, and the fact that the absolute pitch is only a matter of convention, but still can't fathom why lowering the pitch makes the organ smaller. Greg

Hello everyone, Yes Greg, we can certainly do that for you. To make pipes take up less room, the pitch is raised so the pipes are shorter, not lowered. Rob.

Thanks for the information you supplied Rob, it's very useful. Greg

To make pipes take up less room, the pitch is raised so the pipes are shorter, not lowered. Rob. I think we all understand that, Rob, but it doesn't explain why some of Alan's organs are pitched lower than standard by as much as four notes. Regards, John
