Gosh, thanks for posting that clip of 'Wonderland' Ben - I haven't heard that organ for about thirty years, not since it used to feature at the annual traction engine rallies that used to be staged outside the old Birmingham Museum of Science and Industry. The organ was always a favourite of mine and I think that the video clip will give others a good idea why. A truly magnificent sight - and sound!

Thinking more about 'Wonderland' I wonder if the owner could be persuaded to produce a CD or DVD of the instrument? I would certainly buy one.

Hello everyone,
Ben, the tune played on your vid of Alan Cauldwells organ is called 'Things'. It was a hit in the late 60s or early 70s.
Rob.

I would have said that 'Things' was a hit in the early 60's - recorded by Bobby Darin, I seem to recall.

I've just had a look at a Bobby Darin website. 'Things' was a hit for him in July 1962.

Great video. That is the first time that I have heard the "Wonderland" organ. The organ sounds superb. I do hope that some day a cd may be available of it. What rallies does this organ attend?
Ben Jackson- 06-20-2008
Hi Samuel,
Wonderland so far this year has attend Belvoir Castle Steam Festival which was there for the 1st time. Its going to be at Elavston Steam Rally which is the 5th/6th July 08 as my freind John Glover (who is the organ sec for Elvaston) booked Wonderland for Elvaston. It would be very good if Bill decied to have a CD made it.

My father has posted a video of the roll frame of Leroy Schumacher's W146-A playing "Gloryland." We shot this at the Midway Park rally a few years ago.

Thanks, Eddy, some good clips but the clip of the Lekkerkerker 'has been withdrawn by the user' so You Tube tells me.
Does anyone know if any CDs of 'The Arab' are available?
Peter

Hey Peter,
Here is the new link to the Lekkerkerker video..

They have just released a new CD of 'The Arabier' now the restoration is complete... and Pieter van Aken has also repainted the front which now looks more beautiful than ever.
I am sure there is a way you can get the new CD over the internet.
Cheers,
Eddy.
