I’ve just found a really unusual video; two Dutch street organs and a mobile Carillon all connected together and playing via midi. Certainly unusual, as quoting the website, “international contemporary composers of electronic and experimental music will explore the possibilities of these amazing instruments”. Nice to see street organs being at the cutting edge! However, listening to the music in the video, the arrangement and composition to my ears is abysmal! Almost as bad as modern art! This setup could be capable of producing something astonishing, yet in the clip we hear some drab chords and poorly used percussion! Anyway, see what you think… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gvbin6CviQ&NR And here’s a traditional roll-playing machine which looks like an organ crossed with a piano, plus plenty of percussion in there too (some form of Nickelodeon?)… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ztp8oRx_4Vg&NR

And finally a beautiful little German fair organ – what a gorgeous sound from such a compact instrument… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FooUhlFIo8s Anyone know more about this Ruth organ? It looks and sounds like a model 33 - 52-keyless. I listened to one on a carousel in Waldkirch for some considetrable time at last year's festival. Regards, John

I'm afraid I can't help you with the first organ but the Decap sure looks like "Monty" the big 121 key Decap organ owned by the late Kees Adriaansen, this is one of the finest 121 key Decap's around! David
