April has been kept free for a special event of some kind to be announced nearer the time. Any ideas would be welcome. How about a celebration of the FOPS golden jubilee - there are precious few of these listed to date (one, to be precise, as far as I know). Regards, John

Any news on what date the April open day will be?

Hello everyone, Is anyone going to Amersham next Sunday (3rd Feb). I am hoping to see Paul Kirrages new Ruth. Rob.

Amersham open day.
Hi Rob, Bob and I had a marvellous day at Amersham, there were plenty of keen listeners in attendance, the ham rolls were superb, the tea and cakes delicious, oh….and there were a lot of excellent organs as well! I spotted your IMOD badge from across the room and thought that I must introduce myself. I’m glad I did, we had an interesting conversation, but whether or not I get to Thursford remains to be seen. Hope you got some good video and arrived home safely. Best regards Viv

Hello everyone, Thanks, Viv, it was nice to meet you & many others. The badge worked! I spent most of my time there talking (shouting!) but the organs I did get to hear were outstanding as usual, a credit to Kevin & the team. The video was OK but organs never come across very well do they, I think it's a volume impact thing. Paul's Ruth was beautiful, especially with those extra large scale 16' bass pipes standing at the back. Every part of me was vibrating when I stood at the back. Magic. Well worth the 200 mile round trip. Highly reccommended. Make the effort if you have not already. The Ruth will be gone soon. Now, Viv, Thursford is a magical place for us organ nutters. Like Mecca, every enthusiast must make the pilgrimage at least once in his life to ensure a passage to Heaven, or something... Here's to next time, Rob.

Hello everyone, I'm glad you had a great time at Amersham, it is a wonderful place. However I am a bit concerned about the youtube clip. When I went last month I took my camcorder. When I asked Kevin Meayers if he minded me taking some video he said that's fine, as long as it doesn't end up on youtube! Although I think a free online advert can only do the collection good, I respect the wishes of the 'management'. Rob.
