Nice bandmaster on Dutch marketplace
This looks very much like the bandmaster figure I have on my 30-key Alan Pell organ. Alan can supply these, along with bell ringers as well, and I believe there are different sizes - he certainly had different sizes of figures on display at Dorset. The bandmaster has a hinge in his right arm which incorporates a small bellows arrangement, so it is designed to be worked pneumatically. The bell ringers also have small bellows built into their backs for pneumatic operation. The figures I have on my organ have been slightly modified and are all actuated by lever magnets in their bases. On an Alan Pell MIDI organ this gives much more 'life' to the bandmaster. The figures are nicely made and very well finished in terms of decoration. Their circular bases have a pre-drilled hole for a single mounting screw. Peter Jordan
