New Mechanical Music photo group at Flickr.com
I've put together a new "Mechanical Music" photo group at Flickr.com http://www.flickr.com/groups/mechanicalmusic/ Please feel free to join and add as many pics as you like. One other thing : please only add your best photos - be a little creative. The group should be so that newcomers to the hobby viewing the page see mechanical music as diverse and interesting not just geeky. Please try not to do hundreds and hundreds of flat shots of the same organ whether it be White's Gavioli or something a bit MDFs and squiffy. get your cameras out! The summer season is about to begin!

Hello everyone, What fantastic photos Adam. Did you take all the pictures on your photostream yourself? Are you a photographer by trade? I particularly like the architectural ones. Rob.

Hi Rob, Thanks for the compliment! No, I'm not a professional photographer, just someone with a microscopically small Fuji F440. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fujifilm-FinePix-F440-Digital-Camera/dp/B0002XNSU4. I'm constantly almost on the edge of purchasing something professional and huge and expensive ...but then I always change my mind and stick with this old gadget that is so small it fits in my top pocket. My photos can be seen at a few places on flickr : http://www.flickr.com/photos/8420390@N04/ then : for the Player Piano Group http://www.flickr.com/photos/26470899@N02/page2/ and a few I dashed off this afternoon for a Grade II* listed English Heritage place I deal with in central Brighton for the Brighton Festival etc. http://www.flickr.com/photos/26676810@N02/ : no cropping / enhancement / tricks - just straight off the camera and uploaded. For the mechanical music photostream I went through 100s of pictures selecting (what I thought were) the best and inviting them into the group. I was very encouraged to see about 160+ photos in there now. Hopefully all these different photographs (some professional some amateur) might inspire us all to take better more interesting mechancal music photos this coming season! The more interesting we present mechanical music the more interest people will have in it. I did another one for player pianos at : http://www.flickr.com/groups/playerpianogroup/pool/ this gives a slightly different slant on the topic. It's surprising just how many people fiddle about with old piano rolls for arts projects and how they see old players - quite different from the way people perceive old organs - far more avant garde. Do check back on these group photostreams in the months together as (with a little luck) they should grow in quite interesting way! regards Adam
