MIDIBOEK problem I have downloaded Midiboek and can not get it to install. When I go to the setup file I keep getting this message.
can not find C\WINDOWS\TEMP\~~PDTEMP\SETUP.LST
I have downloaded it about 4 times with no change.
I am running Windows ME could this be the problem.
Can anyone walk me through this.
:?
Thanks

Hi Jay,
Just a thought, going from the address within error message you are receiving, it looks like you’ve saved and extracted the midiboek zip file to your temporary internet folder. Try downloading instead to your desktop, extracting, and them moving the folder of these extracted midiboek files to your “C:\Program Files\” directory, and then run the setup. The location is specified in the window after you’ve clicked “Save” after starting the download, so just make sure you select the ‘desktop’ or ‘my documents’ or something at this point so you can easily find the files to extract and move to the correct Program Files directory.
If that doesn’t work, it probably is Windows ME; I’ve never run this operating system, but know others have had problems in the past generally. There’s nothing wrong with Windows 98 still, though upgrading to Windows XP would be the obvious step. That said, Win 98 is actually better for midi work.
Hope this helps!

Thanks Nick
You are probably right about going to a different OS.
I alway start by downloading to the Desktop first so that hasn't worked. To bad my system is to small to go to XP as that is the way I want to go. I have Cakewalk to load but it also asks for XP so here I set. BUMMER HUH

What is the spec of your PC ?
I have run Windows XP successfully on a Pentium 200MHz laptop
If you turn off all the enhancements like animated menus etc, it runs
just fine. It actually starts up faster than Windows 98 - and is a
lot more stable.
