John Smith 20 note busker organ.
Hello! I was wondering if anyone with these organs can help me. Just lately some of the notes seem to merge into each other, instead of cutting off, If you know what I mean. Tunes that were sounding really nice and crisp, almost street organ like, are now more droney!! Very hard to explain but has anyone got any ideas what I can try. Thanks in advance for any tips!!! Neil

Hi Neil, have you altered anything on the organ? There could be at least four things! 1, The bellows arn't working correctly to produce enough wind. ie leak, leather flap valves or other deterioration. 2, The air seal on the tracker bar box isn't airtight. (most likely by my experience with this busker) 3, Tracker bar, music not tracking correctly. 4, Tracker bar leaking between notes. Have you tried to contact John himself? He's always willing to help. Regards Robert Washington :org:

Check that you've got tension on the paper, such that it is held firmly against the tracker bar. If the paper is loose it may cause the effect you're hearing. The other suggestions are good to check for as well. Roger

Thank you for your suggestions. Turns out the locking mechanism on the tracker bar airtight box wasn't engaging properly. Is now rectified and sounding sweet again I have named the organ Hazeldine after my mum Hazel. Can't wait till I pass my driving -*test*-('") so I can start taking it to events. It may only be small but it brings me great pleasure to actually own an organ. Kind regards

If it's a Busker, not a Senior, you can take it on a bus or train if you put your rolls (music & sausage) in a back pack. Just sew a carrying case for it.
