Incorrect Usernames

Nothing to worry about here guys; people who attempt join the forum are automatically added to the new members list, but this does not indicate that their usernames and email addresses have been verified by myself. Until I’ve done this and activated their accounts, they can never log in to post anything. In the case of the three users John lists above, I’ve been away organ grinding all weekend so have only just got the opportunity now to see and then remove these spam accounts and ban their email / IP addresses to prevent future attempts. Forumer has put extensive software in place which greatly limits the number of fake user attempts, but there’s always going to be some which slip through the net. Let me assure all iMODers that I make every effort to only allow genuine users accounts to be activated in order to post on our forum. If you see an apparent spam account, rest assured they will be removed by the next time I log in, and if they haven’t been or you have your doubts, please email me with your concerns. The usernames and email addresses are usually a dead giveaway whether a user is genuine or not. In the case of “Bobdilan” it does on the surface look like it might be a genuine person. However, a quick search on google for the username and email address of this user and you can find that this person has joined hundreds of forums recently, and his only posts on these are advertising a dodgy looking drugs website!
