iMOD Forum Terms and Conditions - Please Read... With no direct association or requirement for membership with any of the mechanical organ clubs / societies (FOPS, MOOS, BOGA, COAA, etc), iMOD is a UK-based independent forum (NOT a society!) for use by all mechanical organ lovers worldwide, subject (but not limited to) the terms and conditions below.
A few important paraphrased highlights of advice to iMOD users…
The number one rule here to realise when registering is that your username for the site is your full real name. We all have them to identify ourselves to others, therefore in order to preserve the integrity of iMOD, meaningless or nickname entitled users will be deleted. This will keep the spammers and troublemakers away, but nonetheless do remember to be respectful and courteous to each other please!
Note also anyone can view and enjoy what we say here, but in order to post messages registration is necessary first. Your email address will be validated for security reasons during this process, as it will at any time it is modified. Don’t forget you must never divulge your iMOD password to any third-party, and make sure you use a combination of text, numerals and spaces/punctuation so it cannot be ‘guessed’ by trial and error. It can never be known by the webmaster, administrator or moderators, and said parties will never ask iMOD users to provide it.Official iMOD Forum Terms and ConditionsBy publicly viewing any section of iMOD, the ‘independent Mechanical Organ Discussions’ forum, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions:
While the administrators and moderators of this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore by viewing the forum you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the webmaster, administrator, moderators who will not be held liable in any manner, nor the iMOD name.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, all published text and imagery (diagrammatic and photographic) is copyright of the original user who posted the corresponding content on the forum. Other than for private use, this copyrighted material is not to be distributed, published, or quoted from in any hard or soft copy form. If a person, company, society or organisation wishes to publish all or part of any copyrighted material given on this forum, then express permission must be gained in writing from the original author and/or imagery owner authorising such action, having clearly explained beforehand the nature of the proposed publication to the author/owner. In such event the material author/owner is to be credited in any resulting publication. If the material was written for and/or first made public using this forum, then the ‘independent Mechanical Organ Discussions Forum’ is to be created as the original publication source, along with the forum’s internet URL ‘www.fairgroundorgan.com/forum’.
By registering to use the iMOD forum you agree to be bound by the following additional terms and conditions:
You agree that all personal details provided, whether made public or private, will be true and accurate, and that your iMOD username shall be composed of your real name that is clearly identifiable by others, i.e. first and surnames. No aliases, nicknames or other unidentifiable marks shall be accepted and your account shall be removed if this is the case.
You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, provoking, threatening, sexually-oriented, or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so will mean such posts are removed and may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed). The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions.
You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic or post at any time should they see fit. This may be on grounds of objectionable material described in the previous paragraph, or due to off-topic posts not relevant to the subjects discussed at iMOD. With reference to items for sale or wanted listed on the iMOD Market section of the iMOD forum site, trade advertising will be at the discretion of the moderators.
The webmaster, administrator and moderators are not responsible for the content of any third party websites. URL links to other mechanical organ or mechanical music related internet websites or organisations are acceptable in both posts and user profiles, however only under the strict condition that such third-party websites do not contain any copycat organ discussion facilities similar to iMOD, or details thereof.
The webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum reserve the right to collectively decide to take action against a particular user(s) who may cause animosity, upset or embarrassment to existing registered iMOD users through the posting of contentious material aimed personally at these individuals. Such public bullying will not be tolerated and at the very least is likely to result in an indefinite ban from accessing and viewing this forum.
As a user you agree to any information you have entered above being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent the webmaster, administrator and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised. Passwords to enable entry into the forum are the sole responsibility of the user and can never be known by the webmaster, administrator or moderators, and must not be divulged to any third-party under any circumstances.
This forum system uses cookies to store information on your local computer. These cookies do not contain any of the information you have entered above; they serve only to improve your viewing pleasure. The e-mail address is used only for confirming your registration details and password (and for sending new passwords should you forget your current one), plus optional ‘opt in’ topic of reply notices. This address must be kept valid, and along with username, website and location information, must be accurate.
These terms and conditions may be subject to amendment at any future date as the webmaster, administrator and moderators see fit. Compiled and produced by Nick Williams on behalf of the iMOD forum on 16th January 2006, E&OE.
