Great Dorset Dust 2007 on eBay What a brilliant brilliant brilliant show the Great Dorset Steam Fair was this year, the best yet! Some fantastic weather, lovely atmosphere, super exhibits and overall a magnificent community spirit across all the enthusiasts present at this largest event of its kind in the world.
The 2007 rally was so good that I thought I'd better bottle some of it for future preservation, hence a unique never to be repeated sale of a jam jar full of the very best of original Dorset Dust. See following link to eBay auction…http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=250161658666
A video showing the collecting of this world famous dust can be seen in the link below to prove authenticity of the contents (thankfully no mud this year whatsoever!). This was filmed by James Dundon, who you'll hear laughing behind the camera…http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=s3HfZErh_oE
Enjoy, and happy bidding!

Hi Nick,
Brilliant joke - it was nice to see a bit of Dorset, even remotely.
We weren't able to make the show this year and are pleased it was good. We are looking forward to getting some more reports on the forum and some pictures. Did anyone see Jimmy Graham's 89 key, along with his living wagon and scammell? We saw it on the Friday before the show, when they were just about to travel, because it needed a small keyframe adjustment (due to some new, thinner music causing cyphering). We were in Scotland for bank holiday weekend, so visiting the organ wasn't a problem. Little Rosie wasn't impressed though by her parents handiwork - it was too loud for her because it was still in the shed when she heard it so she kept her fingers in her ears! 15 years since we built it.
Cheers
Anna

My camera work was really quite good (considering the Great Dorset Tribute, a pitty I had the giggles all the way through such a serious matter.
Jimmy Grahams organ on scots corner was playing very well and turned out nicely as usual. Its a shame, they put it a little too close to the 54kl Dean 'Que Sera' this year so I think they spent most of the days playing in turn, when they were both on together it was quite a racket.
All the best,
James.

Thanks James, I'm glad it traveled down south okay and was playing well (it was when we heard it). Those 2 bell ringers traveled down in a box wrapped in blankets, I painted them and the standing bandmaster some years ago.

GDSF dust?
Dust etc gathered from private land.
The GDSF is only held on the land.
Is it yours to sell?

"Officer, I wish to report a crime. Mr Nick Williams and accomplices unknown have stolen with intent to permanently deprive the owner thereof one Robertsons gollywog jam-jar full of dirt and I insist that any money made by the sale of this stolen property be recovered under the Proceeds of Crime Act. I am also led to believe that Health and Safety regulations were not adhered to during the aforesaid theft (namely the jam jar was not sterilized and the spade was used without goggles or an approved Risk Assessment form having been completed) thus putting unwitting members of the general public at risk to their personal safety"
Cripes! It's the crime of the century! Quick - report this to the police and eBay ...and have a few early night and perhaps some Ritalin. LOL
