german fair organ
I am looking to purchase a german fair ground organ, anything considered needing work, or not. Does any body have any leads or better still an instrument for sale? I will travel anywhere for the right instrument. Reply in confidence to Anthony Cowell 07753 813 758 or by email.

Hi Anthony, Try Dean Organs of Bristol has some times have ad's on there forsale & wanted section of there website of german fairground organs for sale. You contact via http://www.deanorgans.co.uk or you could have a look on this website: http://www.swissmusicbox.com under the barrel organ section, Paul Kirrage's Ruth had section (which is still on the website) with sound clips and pictures on that website on its info page. Ben :)

I've just had a quick(?) look at the swiss music box website. Amongst other fascinating instruments, two wonderful Ruth organs (I listened to the soundfiles - so it wasn't such a 'quick' visit!) and an interesting 'Mortier' reb Verbeeck. You are told it plays both concert and dance styles. The two soundfiles demonstrate what must be the former with distinctive melody bourdons. I would have also liked to listen to a 'dance music' soundfile but there wasn't one. No price is given for any of these; 'priceless' perhaps!! Regretably I couldn't even begin to think about putting in an offer for any of them, much as I'd favour the 'Mortier/Verbeeck. I did think of you, Anthony.

Hello everyone, What about the Fussel brother's Wellershaus? Is that still available? Rob.

there is a German fairgound organ for sale in Leiden, Holland, born as a Fritz Kolb cilinder, changed into a 52 key book player. Plays very good on the Wellershaus 52 scale. The man's telephone nr is 00316-13717201 (Speaks English). I think the price is very reasonable! Hiddo

Anthony if you are still looking for a German Fairground Organ then have a look at Ebay as there is a W. Bruder Sohn 46 keyless organ advertised which is (according to the advert) restored to a high standard. Asking price is £35,000. I don't know whose organ this is or anything about it, but it may be worth a look. It certainly LOOKS like a WBS, whether it plays like one is a different matter! Maybe someone else knows something of this organ? The item is advertised on Ebay (UK) under "collectables", sub heading "memorabilia", category Circus / Fairground Paul

Hi all, The Bruder which is currently for sale on ebay is owned by Oxfordshire showman Harry Hebborn. It was previously owned by the Gray family of Lincolnshire (not the legendary Fred Gray). They used it in a set of gallopers which spent many years on a permenant site at Mablethorpe, followed by a shorter spell just down the road at Skegness prior to the ride and organ being purchased by Mr Hebborn. Some older iMOD members might even remember it prior to all of this in the ownership of Dan Shorey who swapped it with the Gray family for the 87 key Gavioli that he now owns. If you go to forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=992&highlight=" target="_blank">http://organ.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=992&highlight= there is some photographs which I posted of the ride and organ (which as can be seen was in quite a poor state at the time) when it was previously mentioned on iMOD. I believe that the restoration has been carried out by Andrew Whitehead. Best wishes, Trevor.
