Living less than a mile away from two busy main lines, trains have always been a big part of my life. The standard Sunday drive for my family is to follow the tracks the 40 or so miles out to Conneaut and back, stopping at the ports of Fairport, Ashtabula, and Conneaut to see what boats were in. Organ records any day, but train recordings is taking it just too far for me. *Waves hand* I do!!!

And so do I, although it's only 3 LPs (and two cassettes). I've enjoyed the you-tube clips too. I'm also interested in Canals and Waterways. As a teenager and in my first years teaching we had many family canal holidays, then several years 'off' until first married. A few more waterways holidays until our first daughter came along and was showing a keen interest in walking. Nowadays, it is a relatively expensive holiday; not to despair as friends of ours have invited us to join them, in a few weeks time, on their canalboat (shared ownership) in Brittany on the River Rance near Rennes. I will be able to air my French lungs (see my 'introduce yourself' last month)!

i have to say its organs over trains for me, but i do like to see a good old steam train now and then. my dad loves steam trains, were lucky in salisbury to have quite a few steam trains passing through and often stopping on their special trips. talking steam, i do love the showmans engines at GDSF, and their is nothing like a showmans engine and organ together, especially if the engine is powering the organ.
