Decease of Oscar Grymonprez It is with sadness that I report the decease of Oscar Grymonprez.
Aged 103, he died on 15 september 2008 in a nursing home in Gent, near Ledeberg.
May he rest in peace.

Sad news indeed. Oscar Grymonprez was at the forefront in aquiring, restoring and exporting mechanical organs and had a major part to play in the upkeep of dance organs in Belgium along with his son Leonard. Without them who knows what the fate of many mechanical organs may have had, I bet fewer dance organs would exist now if it wasn't for them. A number of the early preservation owners in the UK had great contact with him, especially Charles Hart of St Albans as well as others such as George Cushing and Ted Hine who purchased restored organs from him. His legacy lives on with the number of mechanical organs which went through his hands still playing today.

It's weird, I was just thinking about him a few days ago, for no apparent reason
Anyway, I agree, he did many great things.
Rest in peace.
