A&R GDSF Concert Programme 2008
I've had one or two questions about what pieces were played at this year's concert. For the record the programme was as follows: Zampa Overture Pageant March Four Marenghi arr songs (Who?, Thanks for the Buggy Ride, Get out and get under the moon, Shout, Hallelujah 'cause I'm home) Maritana Overture Empire March Dance of the Blue Danube Donna Juanita Overture Les Gazouilleux (The Warblers) Marche Hongroise Tancredi Overture Intermezzo from "Cavalleria Rusticana" The Maiden's Prayer The Lost Chord Rachmaninov Prelude Eternamente (For all Eternity) Hallelujah Chorus Soldiers of the King God be with You All arrangements by Marenghi & Cie (or supplied by their successors, Gaudin & Cie after 1919). There are some spare copies of the programme available if anyone is interested. These give background details to all the pieces, plus an article by me about my research of the life of Charles Marenghi and one by Philip Upchurch celebrating the 50th anniversary of fair organ preservation.
